The Department of Radiology has existed since the establishment of the Tbilisi Cancer Center, as it is impossible to function as effective diagnostic and medical treatment facility without this department in modern medicine.
Mammography studies are performed by experienced mammologists, using the modern digital mammography apparatus where women's mammal glands are examined.
As for ultrasound research, it is carried out on all the organs diagnosis and treatment of which is being conducted at the clinic (skin and soft tissues, lymphic glands, mammal glands, alvus organs, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, throid gland, also kidneys and urinary system, ureter, urinary bladder, uterus, ovary, frontal gland of men, ultrasound examination of outer genital organs and joint examination).
On the basis of complex examinations, diagnosis of a particular disease occurs. Besides diagnostics and medicinal manipulations are also being conducted in the department. Intraoperative radiation therapy was introduced for the first time in the Transcaucasia, the modern irradiation app, which is mainly carried out in mammogram operations, this method is also effective for different organs including kidneys, abdominal and gynecological organs.
The Radiological Department is an important circle in the work of complex diagnostic and further treatment of diseases.
